About us

Millions of SMEs need designers’ skills to innovate and grow 2011 and these are the principles that Designer Breakfasts holds to be vital in achieving this goal:

1) Sell the value of creativity not outputs – get paid for strategy that solves business problems

2) Entrepreneurship – think and speak the language of business

3) Take your vision and ideas to SMEs – a vast untapped market

4) Co-ownership and co-creation – share risks and rewards with clients

There are exciting things in the pipeline and opportunities to get involved.

2012

We have various projects to finish which we will be concentrating on during the next few months and announcing on this site. This means that we will be taking a break from breakfasts and no more are planned for the time being.

Designer Breakfasts founders Amanda Tatham and Mike Abrahams are collaborating with writers’ group 26 to spark debate away from the breakfast table. This will take the form of a book of individual responses by 10 writers to this year’s Telling the Truth talks, imaginative, often critical (but always honest) interpretations of what was said and a chance to reflect on being a creative practitioner in challenging times. Sir John Hegarty of BBH and Bonnie Dean (ex-council member, Design Council) who inspired the series will contribute to the introduction.

Thank you

Many thanks to Bartle Bogle Hegarty who have been superb hosts for our breakfasts over the last couple of years. We will bring you details of our new venue in 2012 once this has been confirmed..
